November 2020 Newsletter
November 12, 2020
The holidays are upon us. Can you believe it?! Time for cooking, baking, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I know many of you are working on Christmas items. Perhaps a wall hanging for yourself, or a quilt for someone else and you are frantically trying to get those last stitches in place. Please remember to stop for a moment and take a breath and be thankful. This year has certainly had its challenges, but we have learned to manage things in new ways. And working with you all has been a joy!
This is my last Newsletter as President of the Guild. Somewhat bittersweet. I have enjoyed my time with you as President, and working with you all; you are each very special. But I also look forward to the new Board that will be taking over and bringing us into 2021 with new possibilities. It is an awesome group of people that take on these positions! Your new Board is as follows:
President: JoAnn Schrepfer
Vice President of Programs: Martha Walker
Vice President of Membership: Carol Ann Beane
Treasurer: Judy Daymont
Secretary: Deborah Sweeney
Web Site/Historian: Jo Dennin
Ways & Means: Julie Stroud & Lynn Bauer
Christmas Fair: Judy Crane, Jo Dennin and Linda Orizondo
Community Service/Compassion: Pat Lincoln
Special Events: Michelle Fambro
Congratulations!!! And a special thank you to those who served on the Board with me. I could not have done it without you!!!
Let’s take a brief look at what is coming up.
November 23, 2020 – Mel Beach: Dancing With Threads. This is a Zoom only meeting. As soon as we have meeting contact information, we will pass it on to you.
December 2020 – No meeting.
January 25, 2020-
Going into 2021, look for some exciting meetings to be brought to you. Martha continues to bring fantastic speakers to us. With meetings on Zoom, the possibilities are endless!
With meetings remaining on Zoom for the time being, we will maintain our meeting date and time. Everyone that took part in the survey that Julia Smith sent out, thank you. Your input was very helpful and gives us options for when we can come back with face to face meetings. When the time comes, you will get a vote.
Thursday Sewcials are cancelled until after the first of the New Year.
Membership dues are coming up and are due on January 1, 2021. Dues are $24.00. Please make check out to Common Threads Quilters Guild. You can find our Membership form on our website at www.commonthreadsnewnan.com. Please note that dues should be mailed to Carol Ann Beane at 27 Valley View, Newnan, Georgia, 30265.
For now, have a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Merry Christmas, and the Happiest of New Years.
