Happy Fall Ya’ll!!! It is time for cool, crisp mornings (it is coming), falling leaves, sweaters, pumpkin everything, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Christmas is around the corner. Can you believe it? We are in the time of year where we have so much to do, but don’t forget to have a little fun. Take a look at what we have coming up…
October 15 – Louise Lawrence and JoAnn Schrepfer will be speaking about Grandma’s Quilts. Bring your grandmother’s quilt if you would like to show.
November 12 – It is time for our Chinese Auction. What might you have laying around or hiding in a closet that you may want to donate. It is always a fun and exciting evening.
December – No meeting. Merry Christmas everyone!

We meet at the church from 10:00 – 2:00. Bring your lunch and any supplies you may need.

November 10th – Jan Pilnacek will have another block in the series for us.
December - No Saturday Sewcial in December.
Thursday Sewcials – We meet every Thursday, at the church, from 10 – 2. Bring a lunch and join us. You can work on whatever you would like – sewing, hand stitching, cross stitching, crocheting, etc. On the second Thursday of every month we work on Compassion for our veterans. We have lots of fun and laughs. We would love to see you there!
A Stitch In Time – It is time! When: October 11th – 13th. Where: Evergreen Church in Peachtree City.
Chinese Auction – November 12th. Come early to get your tickets if you have not already done so. Have an item (items) you are looking to clear out? Bring it for the Auction!
Christmas Market – As of this writing we have 725 items for the Market! Way to go everyone! Thank you so much for your time, effort and support. We could not do this without every one of you. We will be selling items the first weekend in November at the Newnan-Coweta Art Association’s Christmas Art Market sale at the Newnan Fairgrounds. This is our fundraiser, and the funds raised support us in helping others, namely homeless veterans and the Coweta Pregnancy Center.
Christmas Luncheon – December 1st at White Oak. Judy Crane is collecting the money for this event. Fee is $25.00.

Earn Buttons for Show & Tell with Punch Cards
August is the month when we are beginning the use of punch cards, if you choose to participate. Ribbons for show and tell will still be available and not phased out. The reward for a full card is a quilting button. There will be new buttons each month to pick from. We will punch your card for show and tell and a punch for all things extra you do for the guild like a participating in a charity sewing day, sitting with the opportunity quilt, giving a workshop etc. The first buttons will be given when you join 2015-16 and if you submitted a block for the newest patriotic opportunity quilt, and every time your punch card is full. The buttons will be near the sign in sheet each month for those who want to collect them.

Sewing for Compassion Quilts
Come join us as we sew our compassion quilts
Our guild continues to reach out to our community with compassion sewing and quilts. We are working on quilts for the Vets at Fort MacPherson and the Pregnancy Center as well as burp cloths. We are also in the process of making weighted quilts for children and youth. Compassion Sewing happens every 2nd Thursday of the month and twice a year at our Saturday Sewcials. It is our hope that we see each member on one of these special days. You can bring your sewing machine if you would like but we always need people to iron and cut. We also welcome guests. Hope to see you on one of these days!
We are off to a great start this year! I (Jo) would like to challenge the guild to break our previous year's number of completed items!
To date this year, our Guild has completed and donated the following items:
5 quilts to pregnancy ctr
16 to Ft Mac for Veterans
