February 2020 Newsletter
February 16, 2020
I hope you are off to a great start this year. I know the weather has been a little wonky. Mother nature has been quite fickle. But we have our sewing to keep us busy and content. During this period between the New Year and to date, I have managed to get the remaining 36 of 100 of my log cabin blocks completed. I know. I’m a slow worker. And I got a little distracted. Considering I started them in October! Now to put them together and create the pattern. I’m keeping my fingers crossed because a few of those blocks are a little wonky, too!
Seems like there are quite a few things coming up that I hope you will find of interest. I have so much to tell you! Let’s take a look.

Christmas Fair Market
Can you believe I am bringing this up already when Christmas just passed? We all know how quickly Christmas comes back around, so it is not too early to begin thinking about this or working on items. This is our fundraiser for the year, and we have already had three, yes three, items turned in. Nice work!!! You may begin bringing your items to our guild meetings to be collected. Judy Crane, Linda Orizondo, and Jo Dennin are our Chairs, so please see them with any questions.
Last but not least, thank you to those of you who participated in our survey at our last guild meeting. The survey has been discussed by the Board, and all ideas are being taken into consideration.
Thanks for renewing your membership with us - we look forward to another terrific year! Attached is the Welcome Packet for
2019-2020. There are a few changes and I wanted to make sure you all had a copy without having to print off hundreds of pages!

Sewing for Compassion Quilts
Come join us as we sew our compassion quilts
Our guild continues to reach out to our community with compassion sewing and quilts. We are working on quilts for the Vets at Fort MacPherson and the Pregnancy Center as well as burp cloths. We are also in the process of making weighted quilts for children and youth. Compassion Sewing happens every 2nd Thursday of the month and twice a year at our Saturday Sewcials. It is our hope that we see each member on one of these special days. You can bring your sewing machine if you would like but we always need people to iron and cut. We also welcome guests. Hope to see you on one of these days!
